headed out soon!
When we first met on a chair lift in 2020 both of us said one day we wanted to “quit our jobs and travel for a year”. About a year and a half ago a conversation with a volleyball teammate (meow sizzle meow) got us thinking about that dream we talked about but didn’t have any solid plans to pursue… fast forward to we’re moving out of Olympia after 5ish years for Sam and 3ish years for me. We love our jobs but have this pull to go and explore before the next chapter of life.
We said our first big goodbye this week to our Yakima framily. In the middle of covid I moved to Yakima on my own and didn’t know a single person in the state. I lived in a hotel for a month. I found out what “smoke season” meant and how to (kind of) deliver speech therapy services from an office via google meet when the kids were 200 feet down the hallway. I had a beautiful outdoor Thanksgiving with a family that took me in and hasn’t stopped since. I skied powder for the first time. I complimented someone’s ski boots (they were the same as mine) and rode the chairlift with some strangers. One of those strangers just asked me to marry him. And here we are. :)
On January 9th we fly to Quito, Ecuador for a month and a half. We have plans to trek, bike, and surf our way through the country. I plan to post updates here and also convince Sam to make some entries. He is a really good writer. I love seeing the world through his eyes. I hope you do too.
Our next leg is TBD - we want to explore Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe. Thanks for following along. :)
Have an amazing adventure! Can’t wait to hear all about your travels. Stay safe and soak up every moment!
We will be following along and watching as you both live out
your dream! It’s truly an adventure! Stay Safe 😘
